Greetings from the VOCRDC, Madurai District, TamilNadu, India
VOCRDC is a Tax Exempted, registered voluntary organisation and has been working in the social field for the past 9 years. We were actively involved in rehabilitation work in the Tsunami affected coastal villages of Cuddalore, Nagapattinam in TamilNadu, India. Our staff members assisted renovation work of NGOs and other Relief Workers in the affected places. With the temporary relief measures, the staff is at present looking for long-term measures for rehabilitating the survivors in the District.
We are eager to implement a pilot project in certain villages identified by our organisation. The project envisages provision of long-term rehabilitation needs of the affected communities. The work may involve the following
Y Fishing nets to fishermen communities
Y Repairs and services to damaged fishing vehicles
Y Non-Formal/Supple mentary education to fishermen community
Y Income Generation Activities (Alternative) to fisher women
Y Long term needs such as Community Hall, Public Toilets, Drinking water pumps Mini health center etc.
Y Counseling Centre in vulnerable pockets located near the seashore.
We have supporting partners in the following places identified for involvement:

¯ Mulukkuthurai
¯ Kannai Nagar
¯ Pichavaram
The aforesaid villages are severely affected in Parankipettai Block in Chidambaram Taluk of Cuddalore District, TamilNadu, India.
We intend to submit a project proposal on the above Rehabilitation work in Tsunami Affected region. We shall be grateful if you could send us Grant application and guidelines to seek your financial support.
